Road was relocated to allow for construction of a new aircraft apron for the Boeing Plant. The 5,500’ roadway is a four-lane divided road with curb and gutter, stone base, and asphalt pavement. Landmark installed approximately 13,000 LF of silt fence and other erosion control measures. The subgrade was constructed by undercutting of 32,000 CY of unsuitable materials and installing 190,000 CY of imported select fill material that was placed on geotextile fabric. The storm drain system included over 3,000 LF of reinforced concrete pipe from 15” to 72” diameter and 50 inlets and catch basins. Steel casing was installed for a future water line. The project required the relocation and installation of new traffic signals, and installation of a new highway lighting system and fiber-optic cable. The phased plan allowed for the continuous use of South Aviation Blvd. during the cut-in and tie-in of the new roadway.
